About
Recently, my work has taken a new path — a move away from the functional, conventional vessel and towards a more expressive, sculptural form.

The language of clay is much like the language of the body: sensual and full of tactility. It is a joy to work in this way, conscious of the forms being shaped in my hands.

Isobel creates one-off sculptural pieces, some abstract and others more figurative, all with a refined edge. Her work seeks to sit somewhere between the contemporary and the artefact, as though it has been unearthed from the ground.

Alongside her making, Isobel is beginning teacher training and will be pausing classes until further notice. She looks forward to resuming classes in due course and would like to thank everyone who has supported her over the past few years.
